Bonds that last lifelong

She was the queen of her gang. She reigned. Yes there were other girls in the gang too but she ruled. No, not her age, not her wisdom, it was her unique character, boldness that made her the gang leader. There were guys and gals. Some a couple, some single ready to mingle. He was her favourite. He was younger than her and the darling of the group. Everyone looked at him and treated him like a kid, though at 6’2 and about 90 kgs he looked nothing like a kid. He was in search of a mate. But she wasn’t ready to let him wander.

When he finally did find himself a mate, she was happy for him. Everyone was. He had gone to study and had found his mate there. She was the kind of girl he wanted. Or atleast that’s what he thought. So he had no qualms of introducing her to the gang. Well he was apprehensive in the beginning but then the love jus got better of him and he decided it was time to take her to the gang.

The girl was scared. She had heard of them and their antics before and had even talked to some of them a couple of times. She was scared of her alone. Why, she didn’t know. But even before seeing her, she was scared.  He introduced the girl fist to her, the queen and then to the others. The fire brew between them. She knew she disliked the girl from the start. Ugh, how dare she tries to become a part of the gang and the audacity she had to hold his hand in front of the gang! The queen hated her! That’s it. She took a silent oath to make the girl feel as uncomfortable and miserable she possibly could.

Gossips, bitching, talking behind the back, teasing her, mocking her, irritating and annoying her as much as possible. If it was her clothes sometimes, sometimes it was her behaviour. But everytime they met, there was fire not sparks!

The girl had enough. The queen was happy, thrilled! He gave up trying to mend things between the two. There was no point in trying. He loved both the girls in different ways. One was his best friend and the other, his girl. And he needed both. So all he could do was to take both of them  far away from each other as possible and he did just that!

Years later, to be precise, 2.5 years later they met again. This time a lot of things were different. Yes the girl and he were still a couple but the queen was married. The girls ladies were grown up, mature adults. She asked the queen why she had hated her so much. To which the answer was predictably, new-girl-entering-gang-causing-insecurities.

They both laughed and laughed out loud! Both the men looked stunned. They laughed too. It was a night to remember.

It was a new beginning.

Today,4 years after they first BUMPED into each other, the girl and he are no longer a couple, the queen is still happily married and is a soon to be mother and they: the queen and the girl are best friends. A bond nurtured by time and destiny.

There is a deep and cosmological connection between my birth, my parent's decision to name me what they did, my profession and my education. This brings me to the conclusion that fate is predetermined and like in Hindu mythology, is written by Brahma when someone is born. Example: My name is unique. I did my grads in Psychology. I then did my masters in HR (offshoot of following all the psychos). I then did the ultimate decision of joining an MNC in ............. beat it, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT. So, I have the concept 'MAD' in my name, my education, my choice of career and all the milestone decisions of my life. Now, is it predetermined or what ? :-D
